Dinners in a flat, evenings on a terrace · 20 to 80 guests

Drop-off for house parties, not a buffet line.

A three-bedroom Mumbai flat cannot hold a wedding buffet. For 20 to 60 guests the working format is drop-off: four courses arriving hot and plated, no chafing dishes, no staff in the only corridor. From ₹650 per guest, the host stays in the room.

The house view

The mistake is booking a buffet for a dining table that seats eight. A staffed line from ₹850 needs a terrace or a bungalow lawn and fifty guests; a live counter from ₹1,200 needs a hundred and a power supply the society will approve. For a flat, ask for drop-off: four courses, two of the eight cuisines, built from the 200-plus dish tasting menu, and name any Jain guest at the brief. One chaat cart or khow suey station can wait until the guest list actually hits a hundred. Anything else turns the host into the waiter.

The third curry is the problem

Kravvia has carried eight cuisines since 1999 in Santacruz. That is a catalogue, not an instruction to use all of them on a dining table. Ask for an Indian base and one counterpoint, Thai or Chinese, drawn from the 200-plus dish tasting menu. The trade-off is range versus temperature: five cuisines on a flat's counter go cold while guests are still on the first plate. Two cuisines, served hot, is the house-party menu that actually gets eaten.

Asked before every booking

How late can I leave a house-party booking?

Five working days covers drop-off. A Saturday in the October to February season needs two to three weeks: wedding and Diwali dates take the diary first. Ask for a written delivery window, not a vague evening slot.

Which Mumbai areas does house-party drop-off cover?

Andheri, Bandra, Juhu, Powai, BKC, Lower Parel, South Bombay, Vile Parle, Santacruz, Khar, Worli and Goregaon. Confirm the delivery window at booking so the four courses land hot, not during the first drink.

Can you cater a dinner for twelve?

Twenty is the drop-off minimum; below that the labour does not work. Use the ready-to-eat pantry, ₹160 to ₹200 a pouch and four minutes a pouch, plus mithai at ₹700 to ₹2,100 per kg. Both ship or deliver.

Can I book a live counter for a 40-guest house party?

No. The nine live counters start at 100 guests, from ₹1,200 per guest. A flat of 20 to 60 takes drop-off from ₹650; a staffed buffet from ₹850 needs fifty guests and a terrace or lawn. Ask for two cuisines, not a station the room cannot hold.
