Take the ice cream out of the freezer. You want it barely scoopable by the time the halwa is ready.

Tear the Moong Dal Halwa into a small non-stick pan on the lowest flame. Stir constantly — it catches fast.

When the halwa pulls away from the sides and the cardamom hits, remove from heat.

Scoop the halwa into a wide bowl while still warm. Add the ice cream alongside — not on top, so it doesn't melt instantly.
